During the last week I have exhibited some of my work at the 'Celebrate Wildlife' event in Fivehead, Somerset, along with several other local nature photographers.
The exhibition was organised by Laurie Burn and was a huge success!
I have 2 or 3 other exhibitions in the pipeline, so will let you know when and where nearer the times!
Since my last post there have been days of beautiful sunshine, and I have used the bright weather to photograph little birds in action at RSPB Greylake in Somerset. This is becoming my trademark and I've even had interest from radio stations and a National newspaper in recent days!
Being able to 'freeze' moments that people never appreciate with the naked eye is a great challenge and ultimately very rewarding!
Seeing wings in strange positions, feet dangling, claws outstretched and beaks open in dispute is proving very popular with my followers on social media. I've even started saving and sharing quirky shots that I may have deleted in the past! :)
I've noticed some of these pics being 'stolen' and posted on Instagram, and I asked my Twitter followers if I should put a watermark on my pictures. Most people said they wouldn't mind if I did, but to be honest, I enjoy sharing my photo's with the public and don't want to obscure them!
For the time being I've decided not to watermark them, and I'm sure my followers will let me know if they see someone passing off my work as their own!
Also seen in the last 2 weeks was a gorgeous Short Eared Owl at Steart Marshes in Somerset!
I finally got close to one on a post in good light, and was thrilled with the pictures I managed before a car came along and disturbed it.
I was lucky later on when I saw a Little Owl in an old tree near Highbridge, and I quickly wound down my window and grabbed one shot before it disappeared into it's hole and out of sight!
Below are photo's of everything mentioned above, including shots of Cattle Egrets and Little Egrets.
Enjoy! :)
