My particular passion is birds, and the advent of digital photography has given me the opportunity to capture the birds I see and share them with the world!
The Somerset Levels are a bird and nature wonderland and I regard myself as extremely lucky to call this stunning part of the country home.
I have a lovely partner, Nicola, and 3 beautiful daughters, they all enjoy the natural world but aren't quite as obsessed as I am!
I was brought up on my Grandads fruit farm in Kent, and I have him to thank for my love of all things feathered. As a boy of about 5, he gave me his binoculars and lifted me onto his shoulders and pointed out a Goldfinch nest at the top of a tree in one of his apple orchards. I was amazed, seeing how beautiful these birds looked close up!! From that moment on, I was hooked!
I think over the following few years I had bought or been given every British bird book in publication! I also had my own beloved pair of binoculars that went with me everywhere!
Nowadays, my camera has replaced my binoculars, I feel naked if I don't have it with me whilst out and about..... and I always worry that the day I don't have it with me will be the day a Barn Owl, flies out and lands on a post right in front of me!!
Since buying my first DSLR camera in 2006, a Nikon D50, I haven't looked back.
In the following years I've built up a large and loyal following on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and I enjoy interacting with fellow nature lovers on those social media platforms!

Please come and say Hi on any of the above platforms! :)
I've been published many times, both in print and in digital form, having my work in books, local and national newspapers, magazines, cards, calendars and websites, I've also had my pictures on television and I've given radio interviews to BBC Somerset (3 times), BBC Bristol and Frome FM.
Below are a sickening amount of photos of me, both recent and old. I do apologise ..
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you enjoy it! :)
