The birds are returning to RSPB Greylake in time for my 100th Blog post!

So here it is.
Blog post number 100!
It's been a long(ish) and very pleasant journey getting to my Century, and I'm so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to visit my blog! I've also just passed 70,000 views, which I couldn't have imagined when I started it 3 or 4 years ago!
As the sun was out this morning, I decided to visit my local RSPB reserve, Greylake.
It has recently been rather quiet, there have been birds about still, but you often had to be patient to see them. Today it was clear that birds were returning to the reserve for Winter. Duck numbers are increasing, Snipe are about.....just about everything that you can expect to see at Greylake in the Winter are starting to arrive!
I spent a pleasant couple of hours in the hide in the company of Chris Hooper, a very nice chap with the same love for birds and photography as myself.
I managed a few shots of the Ducks as they took to the air in groups whenever spooked, mostly Wigeon and Teal, but with a few Mallard and Gadwall, and one or 2 Shoveler.
2 Female Marsh Harriers were about for the whole duration, but unfortunately remained quite distant, as did the Buzzards. A Peregrine Falcon dashed past. A Kestrel was being harassed by a Crow, as was one of the Harriers and a Buzzard!
In the car-park Long Tailed Tits went through and I photographed the Chaffinches and Great Tits...a good opportunity for close up shots and portraits!
I met Glenn Bowden in the car-park for the first time, another lovely guy! He runs a fantastic Facebook page specifically for Starling Murmurations around the UK!
