Sparrowhawk at Greylake!

I popped into RSPB Greylake in Somerset for an hour today and stayed in the car park taking photos of the birds flitting around near the feeders.
My timing was great, as within 5 minutes of arriving, a beautiful female Sparrowhawk swooped low in and landed on the bird table, scattering all the little birds!
   It was fantastic to see!
Frustratingly, she stayed with her back to me, although I got some head shots as she looked over her shoulder briefly.
She dropped down onto the ground by a large log, just out of sight, and seemed to be hiding, waiting to pounce when the birds returned, but she was disturbed by someone slamming a car door and flew off towards the bird hides.

Below are some shots of the beautiful Sparrowhawk, plus some other photos of the little birds that would've been on her menu!

There are also some photos from brief visits to Chew Valley Lake and RSPB Swell Wood last week!
